Acceptable Use Policy
This document is provided as-is and has not yet been reviewed by outside counsel.
1. Purpose
This policy sets out what you may not do with Workably. It applies to everything in your account: the businesses your AI team builds, the sites hosted on your partition, the content published, the email sent and your use of the personal assistant. It applies equally when Autopilot mode is on. You are responsible for what is done under your account, including by the AI agents acting for you.
This policy is part of the Terms of Service.
2. Prohibited businesses and content
You may not use Workably to build, host, promote or sell any of the following:
- Phishing and fraud: pages or messages that imitate another organisation or person, collect credentials or payment details under false pretences, or otherwise deceive people into giving up money or data.
- Malware: viruses, spyware, ransomware, credential stealers, or tools made to gain unauthorised access to systems.
- Adult content: pornography and sexual services. Any sexual content involving minors is strictly forbidden and will be reported.
- Gambling: casinos, betting, lotteries and similar games played for money.
- Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives and their parts or instructions for making them.
- Counterfeit and infringing goods: fake branded products, pirated software or media, and content that infringes someone else's copyright or trade mark.
- Get-rich-quick schemes: offers that promise income or returns, pyramid and multi-level schemes, "guaranteed" investment or trading systems, and similar.
- Medical claims: products or content claiming to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a disease, unapproved medicines, and prescription drugs.
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances.
- Regulated financial services without a licence: lending, investment advice, money transmission, and token or coin offerings.
- Hate, harassment and violence: content that attacks people for who they are, threatens or harasses individuals, or promotes violence or terrorism.
- Fake reviews and engagement: invented testimonials, purchased followers, or fabricated ratings.
- Privacy violations: selling personal data, stalking tools, or publishing private information about people without their consent.
- Anything that is illegal where you are, where we are, or where your customers are.
The list is not complete. We may refuse other uses that create similar risks.
3. Honest marketing
- Do not make claims you cannot support, including claims about results, earnings, health, savings or performance.
- Do not invent customers, logos, statistics, awards or endorsements.
- State prices, renewal terms and refund conditions clearly before the customer pays.
- Identify the real seller. Your sales site must show who is selling and how to contact them.
The Auditor agent flags some unsupported claims automatically. Its checks do not replace your own review.
4. Outreach email rules
Outreach email is sent in your name. The rules below apply to every message. Several are enforced by the service and cannot be switched off.
Who you may contact
- No purchased, rented or scraped-in-bulk lists. You may not upload or use lists bought or rented from third parties, or addresses harvested by automated scraping.
- Business relevance. Contact people only in their professional capacity, about an offer that is relevant to their role or business.
- Consent-required jurisdictions are blocked. Laws differ by country. Where the recipient's jurisdiction requires consent before a first commercial email, the recipient is blocked by default. Such a recipient may be contacted only if you hold valid, documented consent from them.
- Never contact anyone who has unsubscribed, complained or asked not to be contacted. Suppression is applied across your account.
What every email must contain
- A working unsubscribe link. Opt-outs are honoured promptly and automatically.
- A valid physical postal address of the sender.
- The real sender identity. No forged headers, no misleading "from" names, no pretending to be someone else.
- An honest subject line. No deceptive subject lines, no fake "Re:" or "Fwd:", and no false urgency.
How you send
- Daily sending limits depend on your plan and may be lowered for new accounts or when complaint or bounce rates are high.
- Do not try to get around limits, blocks or suppression, for example by opening several accounts or rotating sender identities.
- Follow-ups stop when the recipient replies with a refusal or unsubscribes.
Following these rules does not by itself make a campaign lawful in every country. You remain responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and to your recipients, such as CAN-SPAM, the GDPR and ePrivacy rules, CASL and the Korean Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization.
5. AI disclosure
- Do not present AI agents as human beings. If a customer asks whether they are talking to an AI, the answer must be truthful.
- Keep the AI-generated content notices that the service adds, where the law requires them.
- Do not use the service to create deceptive imitations of real people, or content designed to mislead people about facts that matter to their health, safety, finances or vote.
6. Platform and security
- Do not attempt to access another customer's partition, or probe, scan or attack the service or anyone else from it.
- Do not use your partition for cryptocurrency mining, open proxies, traffic relays, or bulk file distribution unrelated to your business.
- Do not place load on the service that is out of proportion to your plan, or resell access except as your plan allows.
- Do not use the service to build a dataset for training a competing AI model.
7. Your payment accounts
You sell through payment accounts that you own, and you are the merchant of record for your sales. Workably never holds your customers' payments. You must follow the rules of the payment processor you connect, which may be stricter than this policy, and you must honour the refund and cancellation terms you show to your customers.
8. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe this policy has been broken, we may do any of the following, with or without prior notice depending on the risk:
- block or hold individual emails, posts or pages;
- pause outreach or reduce sending limits;
- take a site offline;
- suspend or terminate the account;
- report unlawful activity to the authorities or to the affected payment processor.
Where it is reasonable and lawful, we will tell you what happened and give you the chance to fix it or to export your data. Fees are not refunded for accounts terminated for a violation, except where the law requires.
9. Reporting abuse
If you received unwanted email from a Workably customer, or you have found a site hosted on workably.dev that breaks this policy, write to support@workably.dev and include the message or the address of the page. We review every report.
